Tesla has published for the second time a report on its ecological impact!

After a first report released last year, Tesla repeated the experience by releasing a report on its impact on the environment. The document is a wealth of information, particularly regarding the efficiency of vehicles and their ecological footprint. The purpose of this report is also to define Tesla’s green goals, specifically regarding the energy transition.

Tesla released its Impact Report 2018 last year. The goal? Measure the impact of its products and activities on the environment. Tesla recently released the 2019 Impact Report. The latter is designed in the same spirit as the previous one, but it is full of even more information.

The very purpose of Tesla’s existence is to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. As part of this mission, we are pleased to publish our second annual impact report. Transparency and disclosure are important to our customers, employees, and shareholders, which is why we expanded the content of the impact report this year.

For the sake of unprecedented transparency, Tesla discusses the ecological impact of all its activities. For example, the company analyzes the environmental impact of its vehicles. Thus, according to the document, each brand vehicle would produce around 69 tons of CO2 per year. In addition, Tesla also discusses battery recycling and the emission of fine particles, NOx, and other pollutants. The year-round water consumption for each vehicle is also shown. Indeed, each vehicle would have consumed more than 5 cubic meters in 2018 and only 3 in 2019.

Tesla also discusses the impact of equipment on board vehicles. It is about passive safety, active safety, cybersecurity, fire safety or even the solar roof. The report also points to long distance travel as well as the scores obtained at the Tesla Safety Awards. The Model 3 and Model X would represent the best ecology / performance ratio.

Finally, the company discusses its supply chain, particularly regarding cobalt sources. The report ends with a lot of information on its commitments to society. Note that it is impossible to detail in detail the content of Tesla’s report as it is provided. It is best to learn about it personally.
